Knitting group and Scrumbles…

I know it has been quite a while since I’ve delighted you all with my ramblings, but we have been very busy here at Stash.

Some of the latest news is that we have started a weekly knitting group on a Wednesday morning – STITCHES @ STASH

From around 10.30am to 12.30pm we have a lovely group of knitters and crocheters, all busy – chatting and drinking coffee and treating themselves to a cake or cookie… and of course perusing the latest arrivals.

We do have a Ravelry group – Stitches@Stash

We have also re-started our workshops for the year and the first one was last Friday  – Freeform Knitting and Crochet. I was able to sneak off and join in, which was fun as it is something I have never done. Bee kept us all on track and busy all day, the time just flew by. Here are our scrumbles with and without the refreshments…

Busy busy

We have had a very busy few weeks and we are loving it. The new yarns and patterns keep coming.

We are getting ready for a delivery from The Natural Dye Studio and hopefully soon some more Scrumptious from Fyberspates with some new patterns.

The other exciting news from us is the arrival of the SMC Select range of yarns and patterns. The yarns and shades are amazing – I’ll tell you more when we have had time to up pack it all and have a good look!

Last Saturday we opened our doors for a few hours, we were so busy that I did not have time to take a photo of the afternoon – happy customers, tea, coffee, cake and mince pies all around the tree, oh and some yarn in baskets too … It warmed the cockles, here’s our tree – trimmed with Elle Sensual Radical Roll, a little extra luxury

Knitting Workshop

We have had a group of ladies in today, some learning to knit and others brushing up on their knitting skills. They have been vey busy all day and kept supplied with homemade cakes and biscuits (thank you Katie – I have managed to sneak a piece of cake … yummy).

We still have a few spaces left on the October workshop for learning to knit Zimmermann style (fair isle knitting with 2 hands!). Hopefully Katie will be able to bake some cakes….

Busy Days

Steve and I have just returned from a very busy weekend in Cologne at the Handarbeit and Hobby Craft Show. As ever we were not disappointed as it is one of the best trade shows in our business. We have seen some fantastic new Season’s yarns for Autumn/Winter and placed orders for some new products as well. I will give you some more information next week. Here’s a snapshot of some goodies to whet your appetites!

We are having an open day this Saturday 16th April from 11am till 4pm to give all you lovely customers a chance to visit us at the weekend. I thought I had better make some cakes for you to have with a cup of tea or freshly brewed coffee.

This was my kitchen at 7pm this evening……………………………….

Please try to make it on Saturday if not for the yarns but for the cake, as I have made far too much for Anne and Les to eat on their own LOL!

I am afraid that Steve and I won’t be around on Saturday as we are going to Rowan’s home at Holmfirth Yorks tomorrow, to see the new A/W collections from them.

More news about that as well next week. All I can say at the moment is that we are going to be having a wonderful selection of finest quality yarns and patterns this coming season – I can’t wait!! I hope that you all have a lovely weekend Helen x

Knit in the Round Workshop

We have had an amazing day with the ladies on the workshop, they have been working hard learning new skills and will all be going home with a small pot to felt.

Homemade cakes and drinks were not enough to stop the knitting today, and there was very little cake left for the rest of us!

Saturday Treat!

We have fixed another Saturday date for your diaries – Saturday 16th April we will be opening our doors to you from 11am till 4pm.

We will be on hand to assist with any queries you may have or just for a discussions on which colour would be best!

We hope you will be able to join us for a drink and biscuits, possibly cake, for those of you who joined us before Christmas you know how good Helen’s cake is!

And if you are wanting to join us for the ‘Knitting in the Round‘ workshop – places are limited and filling so get in touch!

‘Afternoon Tea with Debbie Bliss’

We spent an amazing Tuesday afternoon with Debbie Bliss and over 45 of our lovely customers. Debbie was delightful, taking time to chat to everyone, sign books and generally be a star!
We all went away with long wish lists or projects for our queues for those on Ravelry.  It was lovely to watch our customers try on Debbie’s garments and for the colours and shapes to be perfect.  Sometimes a garment has to be seen and tried on before we can decide whether or not it is suitable for us.  Having the designer on hand with advice was an added bonus and gave everyone a bit more confidence with their choices.
As usual Helen and Steve provided an extraordinary array of home-baked cakes which we were much appreciated by all.  We hope to be able to host similar events in the future with other top knitwear designers…

We’ve put together some of the pictures from the event here…
